The real power of communities lies not in the strength of houses themselves, but in the people that make these houses, homes. HIL wants to go beyond one-time construction of houses, but rather to empower individuals into taking ownership of their houses, and learning the art of bouncing back after a disaster strikes. Through our community training, HIL builds capacity, reduces dependency, and generates employment opportunities

Master Trainers learn every stage of eco-house construction—from foundations to finishing details—and receive certification on completion.
